Day 5 marked the grand finale of our Project Yantrikta pilot program, and it couldn't have ended in a more perfect way. As we gathered for the final session, there was an air of excitement and accomplishment.
We kicked off the day by continuing the much-anticipated robot race. Each team was given a fixed amount of time to code to make their robots navigate the track. It was a moment of realization as they grasped the difficulty associated with achieving precise movements and the significance of the gyro sensor for sharp turns. Both teams showed exceptional progress, completing trial runs with precision. However, in the final race, one team, which prioritized accuracy and slower speeds, emerged victorious, while the other faced some challenges and couldn't complete the race.
In that moment, I reiterated an important lesson: there are no winners or losers in this journey, only the knowledge and experience gained. It's a cliché sentiment, but one that holds true. I encouraged the students to reflect on their accomplishments and growth throughout the program. Photos of their reflection, capturing their incredible journey can be found in the gallery section of our website.
To conclude the pilot program on a high note, I made an exciting announcement. Starting from the next academic year (June 2023 to June 2024), we will be running Project Yantrikta on a weekly basis at Ramagondanahalli School. The students' faces lit up with excitement as they realized the incredible opportunity that awaits them.
As we bid farewell to this pilot program, our hearts are filled with immense gratitude and pride. The dedication and progress shown by the students have surpassed our expectations. We are eager to embark on this new chapter, fostering a passion for robotics and STEM education in the underprivileged youth of our community.
