Day 4 of Project Yantrikta's pilot brought us another exciting step closer to our pilot program's final day. With eager minds ready for new discoveries, we embarked on a session filled with thought-provoking discussions and hands-on activities.
To kickstart the day, we found ourselves engaging in a slightly tangential yet captivating discussion sparked by a student's question about artificial intelligence (AI). Delving into the realm of AI, we analyzed its pros and cons, delved into Asimov's Laws of Robotics, and explored the profound impact of robotic sentience on human society. The students even participated in an informal debate, weighing the advantages and disadvantages of AI.
Building upon this foundation, I guided the students through the components of an AI system, from data collection to the rules governing its use, adaptability, and reasoning capabilities. It was a fascinating journey into the intricacies of AI technology.
Recognizing the diversity in learning abilities and aptitudes, I created a task that challenged different students. Some were tasked with constructing a pulley system or crane using basic Lego parts, while others worked on strengthening their foundational skills. This experience highlighted the importance of expanding our mentorship team to better cater to the individual needs of our students.
As the session progressed, I decided to infuse some fun into the day. Together, we designed a thrilling robot course, invoking the spirit of racing. The students embarked on coding their robots for the race. The excitement and enthusiasm were contagious as they applied their learnings and put their creations to the test.
Day 4 proved to be a highly productive and immersive experience, stretching the session to around 6 hours. However, the joy and engagement of the students made it all worthwhile. With anticipation in our hearts, we eagerly look forward to the final day of our pilot program, where we will celebrate the remarkable progress and achievements of these talented young minds.
